Bringing Local Flavors to Life through Branding and Design
Role: Helapan, a family-owned company delivering produce and cooking ingredients to bakeries and supermarkets in Puerto Rico and across the Caribbean, needed a cohesive visual identity. I was tasked with creating branding elements, visual designs, and custom illustrations that reflect the company’s local roots and natural island influences.
Challenge: The primary challenge was to infuse the branding with the essence of the Caribbean’s local and natural elements, aligning with Helapan’s family-owned ethos. The client wanted the illustrations to vividly represent the region’s produce and cooking ingredients, creating a distinct and authentic brand presence.
Solution: To address these challenges, I focused on:
Custom Illustrations: Designed unique illustrations that highlighted the local produce and natural beauty of the Caribbean, incorporating elements that resonated with the island’s culture and environment.
Branding Elements: Developed a comprehensive branding strategy that aligned with the family-oriented values of Helapan, emphasizing authenticity and local connection.
Visual Design: Created visual designs that seamlessly integrated the custom illustrations with the overall branding, ensuring a cohesive and engaging brand identity across all platforms.
The result was a vibrant and visually appealing brand identity that effectively communicated Helapan’s commitment to local produce and natural ingredients, strengthening their connection with customers in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
